So many people have come through my doors this christmas, either gifts for loved ones, for themselfs, or to mark a turning point in there life or someone elses. What ever the reason be I have had a wonderful busy lead up to christmas… with it only being days away i am so ready to relax and try and shake off this morning sickness with well deserved TLC time.  There is alot to share and each and every session was beautiful. ” Eli how you have grown” you last saw me 3 years ago, you were one of my most adorable baby book clients.  It was lovely for you to come back in this week and visit me….. as you had come all the way from Canada quebec.

You are beautiful and i loved spending a crazy little photo session with you one more time.  Until next time little boy! xx

Seeing you smiley and happy after your mum and dad told me you had been unwell  is a cause for celebration. you enjoyed your session today and the pics are fab as always.
Health is nothing to be taken for granted.

Do you think he is going to take after me..? each time he comes in the studio he picks up a camera!

I see so many familys every day in the studio. One lady last week asked me how should i take a nice photo of my child, i give her my advice and she came back to me and told me it was the best advice she had been given! wow thanks i thought to myself if i helped her maybe i could help you!  so here are  3 tips to help you along the way.

1. Get down on their level.  Towering above them is one viewpoint yes.  But getting down on their level, you begin to see them in a whole new light.  Lay on the floor.  Crouch, squat.

2. Connect with them. Let them forget that you have a camera in your hand (however have it on and in your hand). Don’t make a big deal out of ‘taking photos’. Make it fun. Sing songs, play games and connect first. Shoot next. Stop trying to make them stop what they are doing and smile. Do anything to get a laugh.  Saying “SMILE” or “CHEESE” may work for some, but my favorite photos are the real laughs and the ones that are truly in the moment.  Having a great expensive camera is awesome, but not if you can’t let everyone relax and have a good time and have fun taking photos of your life. Tickling, songs, counting… anything.

3. Keep your camera (your “good one” if you have one) somewhere that is easily accessible, with charged batteries and a memory card in it. You are FAR more likely to take photos if your camera isn’t tucked away in it’s safe little hiding spot. I keep a camera out all the time. I find it is easier when Pierce is being super adorable to just grab the camera and take a few photos.

My last ‘tip’ is to photograph it all. Document your lives. But PLEASE back up all of your photos onto hard drive or cds/dvds something!  No one wants to loose precious photos, and believe me… it can happen to anyone, at any time.

Think  about how much has happened in a year.  Think about all of the firsts. His, yours.  Think about what you had come through, what you had been through.   What joys, what moments.  It makes me so happy to share and witness some of this with you.  looking forward to another new beginning. x

Here is another book for me to make,  for me to start.  Computer turned on in front of me, what image to go first?  i dont always start my books from the first page!  if you know me, i do things like this!  im starting with my favorites, Ruby has been in my baby book club and its now that time for the compleation of  her book. Where to start we have so many photographs. we have that many we had to book in extra viewing time!  i have loved every minute of every photoshoot woth you guys, Ruby Lee is amazing in every way, i know this book is going to be a  master piece.

One year ago little Miss Lilly Ann took her first breath in this world. Wiggled inside of her mums belly one last time, and burst forth into this world. Victoria and Garry came to me while they were pregnant and have stayed since. They are no longer just husband and wife they are 2 plus lilly! its something extrodinary to become more than just you. Lilly is part of them and thats something that will never change.  Each month in our baby book club we photograph our beautiful little darlings and capture the first stages in their lifes. This year has gone so fast… they do say it goes fast when you have children. One year seems like a second ago, and a hundred years ago. Im sure i wont have to wait to long till i see this family again. Not so very long ago we photographed Cheeky Charlie, he was part of the cool baby book club we have!  It is my pleasure…. to introduce the little love bug again. One year on and running around my studio, Talking… like actually talking.. I could have a conversation with him…amazing! He was running me over on his little scuttle bug bike, then giving me hugs he was every bit delicious. Michelle said every morning when i wake up and when i see his little face its like the best christmas pressent ever! I would have to agree with you!  I was most honored to have them in my baby club but then to have them journey over from their happy little nest in Easington, solely for a photo session of him a year on i can just say that im so lucky to have people who love what i do to come back again and again. thank you. Now enough talk and just look at this baba… enjoy x

I remember faces… I see that many of them,  its always great when i see returning clients and there babies and how they have come on and grown.  I can remember when i was in my nine months of pregnancy and still shooting studio sessions, then it stopped for a few months while i took on a new role in life of being a mummy.  I cant say what changed, it just did.  everything is different.  I was no longer only me.  I am me plus Pierce. Granted Pete is a part of that we as well, but its something extraordinary to become more than just you.  This week i smiled again at returning clients with new members of their familys. I cant beleive three years ago i photographed a bunch of them, I sat for a moment and was so happy that they had returned, you aways want them to but how many do? Im one of the lucky one’s who can say most of my work comes from recomendations and returning clients.  Three years ago seems like a second ago, and a hundred years ago.

Im going to start the photos off with Emma and her wonderful litle family.  here i  bring you  my retrning clients and a  favorite pic from each session. emma came in to the studio 3 years ago for photos and returned this summer for more. what a great shoot and so many lush photos.

This little one is here  bursting with love, laughter and joy. i couldnt pick just one of  leannes beautiful little girl ellisia so here are three.!.. Beautiful.

Julie and her family came to see me a few year back… they dont live around here any more , they had been to other photographers around there area but julie said it just wasnt the same, so when visiting up in hartlepool one more time why not book in with her old photographer…ME! thank you so much for coming back in to see me. how your children have grown…. this pic is of julie trying to have a peaceful moment with her book while her children fight around her… i love it. x

Carol has came to see me every year for the past three to make up xmas callendars. now should be the time if you are thinking about doing your calendar shoots, bring along all of your props just like carol and her family then we can go through them all and put them into each month.

Claire and her most amazing little ones, This is the month for fabulous families. again i couldnt choose just one so i needed to give you two.! claire  your children are angels so nice to see you guys come back. and nice to meet your nw addition ewan. maybe see you again with another new one!! xx

Yvette was one of my most beautiful and stunning brides a few year back when she married paul hutton, they recently came back to see me as they were leaving to live abroard as they both have new jobs. hope whn they want the next set of pics doing they send me a ticket!! sending lots of hugs to you in your new home. x

well this lady has been with me for to long!!! june he was only a baby when you cme in and now he is a big boy!! he is so amazing i bet he has you tired at the end of the day. ! lots and lots of lovely pics… lets start making this book shall we? x

Its June already… half way through the year!…summer has arrived.  This is quite a shock,  as this means,  that all of a sudden I’m wildly busy!  But… I could have worse problems!  Welcome Rachael and her babies. cIt would be cruel of me not to share a few of these with you.

Going into this shoot, I knew how much Rachael wanted her children captured.  And some times you just know how important it is for a mum to have her babies beautiful little faces photographed.  When I know how excited people are about their shoots, it does nothing short of spiral me into a wild whirl wind of inspiration.
I loved spending time with this bunch, and was so excited when the Eliza started flashing smiles my way.
What  beautiful children and what a pleasure to work with, I know I say this alot but doing photo shoots like this really makes me so happy to be a photographer.  And its all down to my models. Thanks You two…. your Amazing. x

What a lovely little man. Im  a bit shocked that Sam and Martin waited so long to come in and get his photos done! He worked so well with the camera.  In the initial glance at an image, what do you see.?
fun props, quirky poses, something beautiful. ?  Maybe you don’t know why you like the photo… You just do…. I’m not really one for fuss.  I don’t really like using a lot of props or things in photographs.  I like spirit.  I love  emotion.  I love seeing behind the image, what is really in that photo.  You can see that every one of  these photos are full of love and spirit.   We love you Max, well done on a fab photo shoot XX
